COLLECTIVE ART BREWING
I was fortunate enough to have another piece of my artwork featured on the fine beer products coming out of Collective Arts brewing in Hamilton, ON. Fine folks who like fine art making fine beer.
This series (Series V) they chose my Story of Antwerp as a label... previous series were: Series I - Haida Skull, Series II - Mountie Mountain, Series III - Frankengeisha and for Series IV I was chosen as a judge...
CARDBOARD MASKS
Some cardboard fun through out the summer... I made the dragon mask for a local school Maker Fair... was a lot of fun, but I ran out of glue eventually and never got to finish it. The parrot was made for my nieces over the summer and is cardboard and some old coloured file folders... really nice to be able to use a bit of colour on it.
50/50 ROUND 3 SKATE DECK
Acrylic on wood skateboard. This is for the Project Loop charity to help the kids of Taylor, Texas build a skatepark. The auction is going on now and there is some terrific art up for grabs from a ton of really great artists... you can check it out here: PROJECT 50/50 AUCTION
THE HAND OF ANTWERP
the city got its name from a legend about a giant called Antigoon who lived near the Scheldtriver. He exacted a toll from passing boatmen, and for those who refused, he severed one of their hands and threw it into the river. Eventually the giant was killed by a young hero named Silvius Brabo, who cut off the giant's own hand and flung it into the river. Hence the name Antwerpen, from Dutch hand werpen, akin to Old Englishhand and wearpan (to throw), which has evolved to today's warp.
